I just upgraded to a bonded DSL service and received the c2000t from CenturyLink. I am attempting to copy over my port forwarding tables from my current router and can't seem to find a way to duplicate some of my forwards. I have several that forward from an external port number, say 1001 to a different LAN port number, say 2001. It appears the router's management GUI will only allow you to forward to the same internal port. Is there something I'm missing? Is there a way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?
I am aware that I could put the c2000t into bridge mode and continue to use my current router. It is old and starting to show signs of failure so I want to see if I can make the new c2000t work.

Advice on cancelling my CL DTV Bundle
A month ago a CL sales rep came by my house offering me better service and lower cost than my cable provider I quickly signed up.
Well a month has past and I've decided to cancel. I agreed to pay a certain amount for 10mbps (as indicated on my copy of the contract), but as the "customer care" rep has made so clear, 10mbps is not an option in my area (although 15mbps is) and the 5mbps that various speed tests are reading is acceptable (he said anything over 4mbps was acceptable).
After being passed around different reps for over an hour and a half trying to get the speed listed on my copy of the contract, I was told I'd have to pay more. So I cancelled.
Now my pickle is that Direct TV wants to charge me $400 to disconnect my TV service. Does anyone have any experience with what I need to do/who I need to speak to get this issue resolved?
P.S- If any Century Link reps read this and are willing to get me the speed that my signed contract says, I'm open to listen. Although the very poor customer care that has been demonstrated so far is going to make me thing twice this time.

Dissatisfied longtime ct customer (8 yrs)
Connection has been stable for the most part, but they still have questionable customer service.
Long story short, on wednesday my internet connection started dropping completely. The dsl connection was dropping and the modem dsl light was going completely red. I understand this means the modem is not communicating with the dslam outside. The connection was back and fourth between no connection and connected. It retrained over 10 times in i would say a few hour period.
I contacted cl after seeing it disconnecting so much (on wednesday). I was told a tech was in the area "bouncing around connections" and maybe they were doing network testing. A tech was dispatched to come out early on Friday at 8:30 am.
Up until friday, my connection stopped dropping alot, but was still retraining. Also it was performing poorly as in lagging, buffering and timing out of video games. There was a high amount of crc errors as well.
Friday, the tech( he was nice) came at 10:30 am and wanted to come inside. I was told by chat agent the tech would not need to come in as the problem was outside the house.
I have cat that is around 8 yrs old, and strangers can give him alot of anxiety. So i have to give the cat a comfortable space before i let strangers in.
I dealt with the situation and let the tech in and let him do his thing looking at modem stats.
The tech on friday switched my port to a different one, i was told the previous port i was on might have had lightning damage. The tech checked the stats and told me he might check again sometime soon. I was able to get my full dl speed and ul speed after he left.
But the modem has retrained again since the tech visit friday (yesterday) and is having alot of crc errors and other problems. Other problems include browsing internet, netflix buffering, games timing out.
I am trying to solve this for my mother. I am authorized to speak on the account.
Broadband internet,(former qwest area) 40dl 5ul attenuation is pretty good and the signal to noise ratio was better before tuesday.

C1000A - Router not getting public IP while in transparent bridge.
I have a C1000A through Century Link that I want to use as a Transparent Bridge with my WNDR3700v2 as my router. I have read the posts about similar setups and have tried the solutions on there but I have having trouble getting this to work correctly and am in need of help badly. Here is what I have tried so far.
These are all steps that I have followed from previous posts.
I have wrote down all my PPPoE login info from my C1000A, then I put it into bridge mode and disabled the wireless.
Then I plugged one cable from port 1 on the C1000A into the internet port on my WNDR3700. Then i plug the cable from my PC into the router.
I logged into my WNDR3700 and under basic settings it asked if I require login, I put yes, then entered my PPPoE login info. I then went to the router status section of the router and looked for an IP and it just said 0.0.0.0 which means no internet connection according to the directions, so then the directions tell me to hit connection status and then hit connect. Nothing happens it is unable to get an IP.
I powered off the C1000A and the WNDR3700 and PC turn each one on one at a time. Nothing happens still no internet connection.
I am sure it is something simple and I have been reading many forum posts and trying different things and I just cant seem to figure this one out. Any help I can get would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

[Embarq] High CRC, Dropped Packets During Evening
For the second consecutive evening, I've experienced slow speeds, dropped packets, and a high amount of CRC errors on my DSL connection. Yesterday, the problem started out of the blue around 8PM and lasted until about 11PM. The connection was flawless the rest of the night through the majority of today (perfect speeds, no dropped packets, little to no CRC errors), but the problem appeared almost instantly again at the same time this evening with the same symptoms.
One other thing I've noticed - normally my modem syncs at around 11.5Mbps down, 900Kbps up. When I reboot it during the problem times, it syncs much lower (around 7 or 8Mbps down). I guess that's to be expected given the errors. If I reboot it after the problems stop, it's back to the normal sync rate.
What would cause this layer 1 issue on what seems to be a scheduled basis? The attached photo shows my line stats - keep in mind that CRC error count is after about 1 minute of uptime after rebooting the modem.

[CenturyTel] PPPoE & Static IP Connections
I recently subscribed to Century Link DSL service and requested a static IP Number so I could communicate with my equipment remotely. I purchased a block of eight IP numbers, five useable IP's as per policy of Century Link. I was also given a user name and a password and told to program for PPPoE. In the router setup you either choose PPPoE or the static option. The PPPoE doesn't allow for static IP input, it only has provisions for the user name and password like I was issued. The static option only allows the static IP numbers to be inputted. After setting the router to work for PPPoE, I can get out on the internet but I cannot reach my router or devices connected to the router remotely. I have been trying for three weeks to get someone at Century Link to stop telling like the people at Walmart, if it's not on the shelf we don't have it attitude. I need someone who is familiar with all these protocols and knows how the DSL Service works along with the authenticating process required to access the internet for Century Link. They also must not say I'm sorry we don't support third party equipment because Cisco has said on three occasions that there is nothing wrong with their equipment!!!

CenturyLink's 2015 Financial Analyst Day
On June 24th CenturyLink held a financial analyst day for investors in New York. I mention this because there was some very interesting talk of what CenturyLink has planned on the consumer end.
The summaries and transcript and such can be found on the investor relations site, here:
http://ir.centurylink.com/calendar.aspx?iid=4057179
Again Glen Post, the CEO, mentioned they are still on track to pass 700,000 homes with GPON this year. Meanwhile Aamir Hussain Chief Technology Officer & Executive VP detailed what they have been testing and planning out for copper upgrades. Apparently they mean to take advantage of some newer advances in DSL like vectoring, bonding, etc so they can offer speeds of 200mbps to about 60% of their customer base. This would mean changing out equipment and driving DSLAM's much deeper into the field, hopefully to start catching up with the number of nodes cable providers have out there.
Additionally, they are actively working on their own OTT video product, not sure if that will be Prism branded or if they intend to take it national, just like Sling TV. It's certainly an interesting development though. They say they have designed it to operate on connections above 5mbps, so they could offer this to 17mil people in their own footprint. Certainly would be nice to have some competition for the cable companies.
Of course until they actually commit to dollars behind this news it's all sort of vaporware. It's just nice to see they are actively considering what most of here have been talking about for a while. Sadly no actual commitments to expanding residential GPON deployments or gigabit markets. Probably because they kept talking about how safe the dividend is...

Why (almost) no internet on DSL? Modem OK, line OK.
After 9 days and 4 hrs on tech support, still baffled. Just purchased 3rd modem, no success. Here are the symptoms:
-Working fine with CenturyLink DSL and NetGear modem for years, and suddenly, things stopped working. (Latest modem is even CenturyLink branded, i.e. Zyxel PK5001Z.)
-Android device gets email just fine on TouchDown app (IMAP), but gets no web.
-All computers (Mac, Win) get no web on Safari, Firefox. (Note: I am a Mac guy, don't test Win much.)
-Mac email client, Mail.app, gets no email. (I don't use Win for email.)
-Mac will very slowly, partially load a web page (bare bones, no images etc.)
-Ping shows can connect just fine
-2 hrs on tech support with CenturyLink DSL -> "Everything is fine, the line is stable"
-2 hrs on tech support with modem company (NetGear) -> "Something is wrong with your system, try another computer, or exchange the modem". Yeah right. Have tried 4 computers. Have bought 2 new modems in 1 week.
-DNS issues were suggested but can resolve domain names in Ping, so not an issue.
It seems to me that something happened with CenturyLink or the line to "break" our connection. I guess at some higher level in the TCP/IP stack? Maybe they reconfigured their software somehow?
Please help, this is beyond ridiculous & frustrating.

Centurylink Gpon Vlan2 without the modem
Ok, so while I wait for CL to figure out the gigabit thing here in Tucson, the 40 meg service is actually quite cheap. Cheap enough that I can justifiy having the 40 meg service at the promo pricing for the year.
With everything already ran at my house the tech will have an easy job not doing anything. LOL So I am going to setup my ASUS AC66R up for dual wan, and I was hoping that I could set it up where I dont get charged the modem fee.
So A couple of questions. Do I need the C1000A modem? I had it bridged last time with my router with PPPOE and I asked for my username and password that the modem provisioned with. I still have that info.
I read somewhere that you dont even need the C1000A modem and you can have your router connected directly to the ONT via Vlan 2.
If this is the case what do I need to setup on the router to do this and what should I tell the tech who comes out to basically do the setup and make sure that light is getting to the ONT.

[Qwest] Ping and Download/Upload speed problems
I previously made a thread on this forum about my ping problems with Qwest/Centurylink .Now I'm having problems with both ping and download.
To start this off, Centurylink says that the highest deal I can get in my general area for download/upload speed is 1.5 Mbps download and 284 Mbps upload. I have this deal currently purchased for $49.99 a month, but of course there has to be problems with this. Speed tests ALWAYS point out I'm get the speeds I'm supposed to be getting, but of course this isn't true (my modem settings on the modems website also says this) Results:
Firmware Version:
CZP003-4.3.009.31
Model Number:
PK5001Z
Hardware Revision:
A0B
Serial Number:
xxxxxxxxxxxx
WAN MAC Address:

Modem IPv6 Address:
N/A
DNSv6 Address #1:

DNSv6 Address #2:

But no matter what I download on google or through email etc. I get only 200kb download and 100kb upload. It's one of the most annoying things I have to deal with everyday.
A technician came over once and said that outside he was getting those same results (1.5 Mbps and 0.284 Mbps). He finally came inside of my house and said there was a problem with the modem and said I should replace it.
I ended up replacing it which didn't fix the problem what so ever.
Long story short, I get good results on ping tests, but never get those results when downloading.
Onto my ping, I've run several ping tests before on my CMD and my modem always pinged at 1ms:

New Modem Available? C2100T
Not sure if I've seen this before but CenturyLink seems to have a new modem/router that supports dual band wireless and vectoring. Here's the link to the datasheet:
http://internethelp.centurylink.com/internethelp/pdf/modems/datasheet-c2100t.pdf
The FCC (https://fccid.io/RSE-C2100T#exhibits) has some nice internal pictures of the device and it's actually packing some impressive hardware. It's using the dual-core 500Mhz Quantenna QT3840BC Wi-Fi chip, same as ASUS's AC2400 RT-AC87U. For most of the rest it's good old Broadcom chips, like for the main chip it's the BCM63168 xDSL IAD SoC which supports G.Vector.
Might be time for an upgrade if I can get this for the same $99 xD
