Internet went down last night, comes back as VDSL...

So I have CL DSL ... extremely meager service ... it's official numbers in the Configuration is usually about 7.07 Mbps / .574 mbps (was .446 mbps for the first year, late last year I got them to come out and put it to .574 because I could show the tech a screenshot that it started at .576 [he insisted it was .574, despite seeing my screenshot lol.] ) but they refused to do any further upgrades, no bonding, etc. I am simply too far away, sorry. So the one thing I will say is that despite my internet connection being terribly SLOW, it's pretty rock solid. I am coming up on my 2 year anniversary with CL and haven't had a problem since. Last night, around 7pm for me, my internet connection dropped. When it was out for 5+ minutes, I went and unplugged the modem, etc. Still out. So I log into the configuration area of my modem, and notice that the speeds listed are much higher than I'm used to. Am I getting an upgrade?!?! Woohoo!! HOWEVER, it also says I'm on VDSL2-8A ... and my line has been ADSL2+ since inception, and I was told it was impossible for me to receive VDSL due to distance. Impossible. Well it still won't work, so I call CL and get one of their call-center techs, who says there is no issue with my area, no reported outages, and "Yes, it looks like you're getting much more than you pay for..." -- I mean, I have Price for Life up to like 25 or 40 Mbps (there is some controversy there -- initially it was good to 40 then they changed it to 25... my argument would be, it was 40 originally..) -- anyway-- The tech does all sorts of stuff, infuriating (did you try unplugging it? Did you try connecting through a different port? etc. etc. etc.) --- I tried pointing it, It's virtually certain someone was/is working in the area -- might still be out there -- and changed something, ... but all she would do is put a ticket in the system in for a repair technician to come. (And due to the language barrier, I have no idea if that is actually going to happen.) --- One thing I should point out here... when I initially logged into the modem when it wasn't working, the speeds were like 8.999 / .896 ... (meager internet, but an upgrade for me!) -- every time I power-cycled the modem or reset it, the numbers would get lower and lower, but still not connect. I tried to manually set it back to ADSL2+, it wouldn't connect at all. I would set it to Auto-Select, and it would default to that new VDSL2+ 8A, but not connect to the internet. So ... I am wondering if anyone has any info or opinions in this... I have previously posted my line stats etc, everyone agreed basically, no chance for VDSL, my "loop length" is right now showing 7180 feet, it varies but it's always at least 7000+ feet ... my driveway is 700 feet, and the NID is outside my house, the CL box is at the corner near the end of my driveway, that's almost 800 feet alone. I was told multiple times, I am just screwed, I have the absolute best I am going to get, and VDSL is impossible. So I woke up at 330AM for me, and the net was still down. But, at 7:30AM this morning, it's currently online and working, and the speeds are listed as 6.740 / .789 -- but is working, it's online now. And it's showing as VDSL2+ - 8A ... I am not sure if a tech is coming out, not really sure about anything other than, this is very suspicious to me. Wondering what the braintrust thinks here ... As always, thank you very much and sorry for the lengthy post, I always like to include as much information as possible.
