Anyone else notice as of late the quality of Netflix streams going downhill? For the past month or so the picture quality of the steam is getting pretty horrid at nights. I assume many people are streaming, but it has gotten to the point of being unwatchable. Its has to be some upstream congestion because if I VPN the quality is fine, but unfortunately with Netflix cracking down on VPNs (even within the same country of origin) that work around isn't there anymore.
Curious if anyone else has been noticing this as well.

C2100T and Apple issues
I am currently on my second C2100T router and am still having the same issues. Frequently when I try to load web pages, I get the error that the "connection was lost" or the "connection was reset" or "secure connection failed". Also when I attempt to login to the modem to change settings, it is showing the wrong model number. It shows that I am attempting to login to a C2000T modem when I am connected to my C2100T modem via ethernet. When it finally shows the correct model number and I am able to login, I am kicked back to the login page with the C2000T header after a few moments. I am currently using all apple products, including a MacBook Pro. Anybody know what might be happening?

Centurylink $5 Coupon?
I just received an email from Centurylink (see attached) offering a $5 coupon to say "thanks." Thanks for what, I'm not so sure. Maybe thanks for allowing us to continue with the under-the-line fees and the years of no upgrades and whatnot.
Not sure if anyone else has received one, but I redeemed it and supposedly it will come off my bill in one or two cycles. Not complaining - just thought it was strange and out of the blue.

[CenturyTel] Going on 9 year bandwidth exhaust dont know what to do
I don't know what to do any more i have taken every possible action to get centurylink to fix this from BBB to FCC and all over the map with techs.I am paying 51$ a month for a 1.5mbs plan that barely runs and has been in permanent bandwidth exhaust since 2008 it just keeps getting worse over the years also its not like i live in an underpopulated area i mean its not the city but there is a crazy amount of houses and people on my road who all are on the same suffering equipment i am and centurylink does not even sell plans out here anymore due to the exhaust even though tons more people would sign up if it was available.I keep calling them every month asking if they have new plans to upgrade or fix exhaust and they never do...do i have any hope?
And before anyone says find another provider there is none centurylink is the only isp out here

Using C2000T Built in SIP client
I know i've asked this kind of before, but I'm looking to get into the CL-side admin toolbox for the C2000T - or maybe a generic firmware for the modem that will allow me to accomplish what i need.
I have a cheap ringplus line that i'd like to use for the house phone (it's 1000min/mo) and I'm trying to use the SIP client inside the modem to accomplish it.
Although, i cannot figure out how to do it via Telnet, I should know how to do this but i'm really struggling with it. All i have is a SIP username/password and registration server for the account and cannot get the modem to take it.
I have the generic CL login (or at least i think i do) and when i put it into the modem it says it's incorrect.
So i'm wondering if there's a different URL i have to use to access the CL Support Console within the modem, or maybe if the username/password i've obtained is wrong.
I have a spare C2000T here so if i end up "frying" this one it's not that big of a deal haha

"secret" admin on C2000T?
I had seen a post a while back about getting into the admin tool that CenturyLink can see to program things like the VoIP ports on the C2000T.
All i'm trying to do is see if i can use the built in VoIP ports to use something like Ooma or Google Voice, so i do not have to have a separate adaptor since it's already built in.
If anyone could possibly PM me the info if you have it, it would be great!

Connect America Fund II
Anyone got any idea when Centurylink will begin upgrades from the federal funding CAF II? I have asked both talktous and the online chat and no one could provide any information. I am considering switching to our local wisp but if the upgrades are coming sooner than later I'll wait as the speed the wisp offers is expensive compared to Centurylink for the same speeds. I live in the Hickory area and my residence is in the accepted funding areas according to the fcc website. Thank you for any help!
Ps I currently have 1.5mbps/287kbps adsl. Pings are frequently between 60ms to 1500ms. The 1500ms pings are happening even when there is a low load on my connection based on what my router is displaying.

[CenturyTel] Loop length too long for bonding service?
I currently have 6MB/512 service (fastest offered in my area). I called CL to see if I could get a bonded line, and they said it was available in my area. We set up a site visit/install. The install day came and went, no call from the tech or anyone from CL. After an hour on the phone I finally get the technician's notes; he stated that I was too far from the CO for bonded service. I didn't think that loop length affected bonding two lines, has anyone else ran into this? Here is some of my information from my modem/router (C1000A):
SNR: 13 dB 21 dB
Attenuation: 36.0 dB 21.0 dB
Power: 19.8 dBm 12.5 dBm
WAN Type Selected: ADSL-ADSL2+
Estimated Loop Length: 6006
Line Mode Selected: G.DMT
Transport Mode Selected: ATM-LLC Bridged

IPV6
I have IPV6 enabled on the C1000A according the the Century link instructions. This part works. Now I have connected a netgear router WNDR3700v3. The C1000A is configured to treat the Netgear router as a DMZ host. How to I have the Netgear router grab IPV6 and provide IPV6?
Thank you in advance for the assistance.

CL modem + Netgear router = support?
If, as is often the case, I need to call 'India' to tell them my DL & UP speeds have tanked per speedtest, will the phone center person (based upon forum firsthand experience) automatically disqualify my call since I'm not solely using their modem/router (C1000A wireless turned off and activated bridge connection to the Nighthawk) even though the Netgear Nighthawk box states that the device is CL approved?

PCI Compliance 443 Issues on CenturyLink/Zyxel Modem Router
I have a customer with a CenturyLink Zyxel modem. I'm not certain of the model as I didn't make a note of it and don't currently have access to it. I think it is a PK5001Z or a Q1000Z.
A PCI scan is failing because of a bunch of SSL related errors. Basically, the SSL on this router is extremely out of date, even though we have the latest firmware installed. It still uses SSL2 and has the Poodle vulnerability, among others.
I went in and turned on Stealth Mode and also changed the firewall setting to Medium and ensured that HTTPS/443 is unchecked on the "In" column (or whatever it's labeled). I also ensure that remote management is disabled. I cannot access the modem/router from the outside, but a security scan by NMap still finds port 443 to be open.
I'm wondering how I can ensure that this port is closed so that a PCI scan will pass instead of fail?

3rd party ISP with CL lines?
It sounds like some of the issues people have with CenturLink is with their customer service. Is it still possible to use a 3rd party ISP with CenturyLink lines to get different customer service?
I remember back in the QWest days you could do it if they had the right equipment in the neighborhood boxes. It was something like you could only do it with the older ADSL but not the faster ADSL2+. Just wondering if that is even an option anymore these days with so many neighborhoods upgraded to FTTN? Thanks in advance for any info on this.

[CenturyTel] DSL Connectivity Issues
I am having trouble with slow internet. Sometimes it's very fast and other times it slows to a crawl.
I noticed that when the downstream SNR rate falls below 10 it gets incredibly slow. Right now as I am writing this message, this rate is at 12 but the screen shot I took earlier, my modem stats were at 9.8.
Can anyone tell me what might be causing this problem and how it can be fixed?

Problems with the ZyXEL C1100Z - CenturyLink needs to fix this
We are seeing the the following issues with the ZyXEL C1100Z using firmware version CZW002-4.12.009.0:
1. Intermittent/sluggish/non-responsive remote GUI access
2. Often when the modem is configured with PPPoE and a block of static IP's we are unable to access our device behind the modem remotely because we get redirected to the modems GUI instead (the fix for this is to disable NAT but we are often unable to do this (see #3 below))
3. Settings not taking when applying them remotely (e.g. NAT still showing enabled after remotely repeatedly disabling it)
4. Inability to change the remote GUI port from 443 to 8080 when accessing the modem remotely

Gigabit service?
No one at CenturyLink can decide if my area qualifies for gigabit or not. I've called twice and had 2 people tell me it should have gigabit, but then when they transfer me to someone who can set it up, they say the max they have in the area is 100Mbps (what I have now). My installer came out and told me that he thought we should be able to get gigabit because we had Calix hardware in our ONT. CenturyLink also just came out and installed new line, which delayed my install by 4 weeks. Obviously, if gigabit is attainable here but I keep talking to people who don't know what they're talking about, I'd love to get it. Does anyone know if there's a secret number that I can call to talk to people with actual knowledge of the hardware in the area and can either tell me that yes, gigabit is availalbe, or no, gigabit is not available pending an upgrade of certain hardware (ideally they'd know which hardware was pending)?

Centurylink fiber (not gigabit) questions
My father lives in an area where cl offers gigabit fiber, but only ordered the 40mbps option for $40 per month.
Despite this cl insists that he still needs the full install where I'm assuming that they rip out all the copper and install fiber to the premises... and then charge him $60 for the privilege.
Cl was also very very insistent that he definitely can't buy a dsl modem/router combo from amazon and has to use their router the ZyXEL C1100Z for $100 or $10 per month, despite the fact that that router has worse specs than a $30 retail router.
From some threads on here and other places, it looks like cl was lying to me about that last point and a $30 router will work if it supports pppoe and possibly vlan id although some say you can get that turned off.
As you can probably tell I'm about ready to call and cancel the whole order if we can't get this bs worked out.

[Qwest] Internet Cost Recovery $3.99
I've read the other posts complaining about the Internet Cost Recovery fee. But I just noticed in a bill that it says starting in April 2016, the fee will increase to $3.99. At $4 this is starting to become less of a "small nuisance fee" and more of a large charge on the bill. This in the Denver, CO market.
