I had a 40 MB plan, modem was saying i had a 25 MB connection with centurylink, but after the first year the cost doubled. So I called to reduce the speed to 20 MB to save money, but now my modem is saying I have a 10 MB plan and I average 6 MB on speedtest. I chatted with tech support and they say I have a line issue and need to send out a tech but want an $85 fee if it's an internal issue. I told them I wouldn't be willing to pay a fee.
At this point I'm not willing to pay considering I just called to reduce my costs last week. My only other option is Mediacom in Savage, MN. I can get a 30 MB plan from them for about the same cost I pay now.
I guess I'm just venting, but I wish companies would just charge a fair fee and I wouldn't have to change each time my rates increase.
