Prism TV, like others, make claims about their service that can be misleading. Their claim that you can record four shows while watching another is only correct if you do not watch in HD. With HD you can only record one HD program while watching another HD program. If you are recording two HD programs then you must watch either low-def programs or pre-recorded programming. Only two HD streams are supported on the channel-bonded DSL router.
Note also that if your telco wiring does not come directly into your home at a TV then they (CenturyLink) will likely put in wireless set-top boxes on all your TV's. They provide one for free but its another 9.99 a month for the second one. They don't tell you that when they install it.
I have had issues with the set-top boxes overheating and acting flakey. If they get too hot then they either quit entirely or you may experience a 10 second or more interruption in service every 30 minutes. I would assume that the set-topbox must cache some of the video stream to keep things streaming smoothly and that is failing. I can set my clock to the interruptions. I still need to call CenturyLink to see if I can't get my primary set-top box replaced.
