Ok so after 7 years of service with Century/Tel/Link I made the decision to upgrade my speed and go naked DSL. Big Mistake on my part apparently, my speeds were supposed to be upgraded to 10mbs download from 5mbs and keep my current upload of 768k (which I specifically asked if I would be keeping and was assured I would be). I placed the order at the local Century Link yesterday and the changes were scheduled to take place today. So I woke up this morning and did a speed test, I now get speeds of 6mbs download and 484k upload (surprise surprise). Now I realize speeds are "up to" but that is not even close and the download speed going down is not acceptable. It seems like the "engineer" they sent out to take care of the ticket didn't even read it or can't read. So I called the local office and complained, now there is a ticket to fix the screw up on their end that may or may not get done today or Monday. Gee thanks a lot CenturyLink thats some A+ stellar service there ! If I didn't know how to do speed tests I would be paying for something that isn't even close to what I signed up for. So what this and past experiences have shown me, is that even the simplest of changes are now the customers responsibility to make sure they are done correctly. It's no wonder so many people seem unhappy with them, not that they seem to care about their reputation or anything.
