I'm posting for a friend. They ordered a static IP address last week and was told it would be set up yesterday Dec. 17. At 3am yesterday morning their internet connection went down. Was still not up by 8:00am. They called support and was told something happened when configuring the line and they would get it fixed. Still down in the afternoon. Called back support and asked support to put it back they way it was and would worry about it later so they could get internet back up. Support said they could not because it had locked up the modem and they would have to send a tech out. Tech could not get there till today. Internet down all this time. Tech shows up today, does something, didn't say what and got the internet up and left without saying anything. They called back support to verify they have a static address and was told sorry, not available to them at that location. Is this normal? Modem was not locked up, my friend did a reset on it and still had no internet access. Is something else up?
