Current Centurylink (former Qwest area) bonded VDSL2 subscriber (FFTN). They've been sending communications that FTTH is coming soon and signed me up for a "VIP invite list" or whatever. Lo and behold, I checked my availability today and it was there, but this time it routed me to this new Quantum Fiber website I haven't seen before when helping friends sign up for Fiber. I went ahead and signed up for an appointment on Wednesday (oddly the system even had Christmas appointments available). One of the questions was whether I was a current customer, I clicked yes and was told a rep would reach out to me about that.
My questions is what do I need to do to make sure I successful switch from DSL to Fiber, ie accounts etc. I had read in the past that Fiber is essentially treated like a completely new account, not an upgrade on your DSL account. So do I need to call to cancel my DSL account, do they handle that, etc?
