No show for installation appointment

Made an appointment for 1 gig installation. Received automated call verifying appointment time, which was today 9-11am. That time came and went with no one showing up. The online 'where is my technician?' site claimed an 'error' even though I entered all the correct info. If i had to guess why the tech didn't show up, we have overhead fiber in the alley, but from the pole to the house, all of the utilities are underground. The pole is on the opposite side of the alley from our house. If that was the issue, and CL required another crew for underground work, it would have been nice to have been informed instead of wasting hours at home when I could have been at work. I just called and cancelled the order, person at CL offered no explanation. I heard CL wants to sell their residential side of the business, perhaps they have already given up on it.
