I just moved to a new house in Winter Park, FL 34787 and had a ONT installed and then the following day, the modem installed and activated.
I pay for 1GB fiber. I ran 5 DSLReports speed tests:
259/208 14ms - Plugged into ONT with CAT-6 Cable #1
291/243 14ms - Plugged into ONT with CAT-6 Cable #1
221/223 18ms - Plugged into ONT with CAT-6 Cable #2 (to confirm it wasn't the cable)
195/139 20ms - Plugged into C3000A with CAT-6 Cable #2
246/249 19ms - 5G WiFi to C3000A
Laptop ETH NIC: Intel I219-LM connected @1.0Gbps
Laptop Wifi NIC: Qualcomm QCA61x4A 802.11.ac connected @1.3Gbps
ONT 'level' 1310 - 17.42 (written on inside of ONT)
Modem: Actiontec C3000A (rev 3B, CAD002-31.165L.4, 1000Mbps wan connection)
I did this while the tech was here and he said this is to be expected, and that if I ran 4 speed tests at once, with 4 devices, I'd hit 1GB in total.
This isn't what I expected, and I thought I would get at least 800/800 on one device.
Can anyone chime in here? Short of calling for a tech to come check it, any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
