CenturyLink has a massive project installing Fiber through our rural community. First the contractors put in infrastructure for DSL. I am .3 miles from the switch. It works great and is so much better than WiFi. Then the contractors came through again and I asked them what they were doing. They said installing 1GB fiber. They have been done for about 3 months and they told me there is a terminus/switch box in the easement outside my house. There are also a couple of CenturyLink 1GB fiber signs at road junctions in our community
I've tried calling CenturyLink asking about 1GB fiber. All I get is some rep in business sales that wants to do a site evaluation and charge me $2500 a month for the service. I've tried explaining this is a residential rural community with no businesses to no avail.
How much is residential 1GB fiber and how do you get CenturyLink to give it to you?
