I've been getting the runaround on the phone when I tried to have a nasty typo corrected in my PPP username on my CenturyLink fiber account. The PPP username is "lastnamefirstname"@qwest.net but they really butchered my first name in a very unflattering way. They tried to tell me they can't change it, that it doesn't matter, that no one sees it, that typos are common (really?!), that the typo is better for my security (double really?!) I mean every excuse in the book was thrown at me. Come on, it's the principle of the thing! Then they tried to tell me that my first name was entered incorrectly when they set up my account and I had to call some "Simple" account phone number to change it, but when I look online my first name is correct everywhere except in the PPP username. I didn't even bother calling again after the treatment I got, especially since I was told my PPP username would not change regardless. Has anyone had any success changing or fixing their PPP username with Century Link and if so, how did you do it please? I'm loving this symmetrical 940/940 2ms ping service on a 1:32 GPON, but customer service has been horrendous! At least they managed to give me my PPP password. Thanks for any ideas!
