I have read every forum post I can find and I have called CenturyLink but I still can't get internet access through the router I'm trying to connect to my C2000T modem. Here is what I did:
-changed my modem's IP address to 192.168.0.254 so I can access it later
-made a not ofe my broadband settings
-set my modem to transparent bridging 8/35 on the WAN page (I've confirmed that 8/35 is correct with CenturyLink)
-once I do this DSL1 and DSL2 show connected but the internet shows disconnected and the modem status screen
-at times once I do this step above I completely lose the ability to connect to my modem even when directly connected and I am unable to complete the rest of the procedure below
-manually set broadband settings to what was indicated below auto-select before enabling bridging
-turn off the wireless radio
-connect the WAN port on my router to the #1 LAN port on the modem
-set up the router to login in via PPPoE using the username and password given to me by CenturyLink (my username and password are the same which I find odd)
-finish setting up the router
-router never establishes internet connection
I've tried 3 times now. Each time I keep having to reset the modem to get it working again. I end up losing the ability to connect to it. I've tried connecting the modem to a LAN port on the router and connecting another LAN port on the router to the router's WAN port. This worked the first time I tried but not since then.
I called CenturyLink and they were no real help.
Any help is appreciated.
Chris
