Will try and keep this short....... Living in Rio Rancho, NM, fortunate to have serving equipment across the street. Have CL 140/20 service; works great. Saw a lot of activity at the enclosure the past few weeks, so went over, wondering if they were up to any good. Turned out they were replacing a shelf at the time. Asked about higher speeds. The tech said, sure, several gig customers on this street. (!!!). He did provide a caveat that he works on transport, so doesn't actually do work at customer homes. So after a few calls, I was told today that VDSL2 equipment has been *removed* from my street, likely in preparation for fiber. I'm supposedly the only home on the street with VDSL2 service at this point. Being suspicious of the validity of any of this, I checked available services at a few neighboring homes. All of them were only showing 7MB service available, which I was told would be the case by the last rep I spoke with. So, in your experience, does any of this pass the sniff test? I've been pondering Cable One for their ridiculously priced 1GB service. If there's hope for fiber from CL, I'll wait. Would love to think that fiber is coming, but I work in Telco field, so know how often customer service and field techs get it wrong (their intentions are good, just bad info conveyed to them). Thanks, --Grimmwit
