A little background - I was stuck with 1.5Mbps for years and surprised when CL allowed me to upgrade to 7Mbps service, online. I fully expected it to be rejected due to my location. A few days layer my speed initially was provisioned at 7.191/.896 on G.DMT. After a week or so, went up to 9.---/.896 using ADSL+. Happy camper. A couple of months later, many disconnects, millions of error packets loss, thousands of CRC errors and speed fluctuations. Two techs later, line seemed to be working again. Was told by last tech I was very lucky to have speed I was given. They reset profile to 7.191/.896. A day or two later it dropped to 6.1--/.4-- on G.DMT. Line seemed very stable for two weeks. Near zero CRC errors and error packets loss. A few days ago I noticed faster speeds. Logging into my Zyxel C1100Z modem showed 7.191/.896, then 8.191/.896 then a day later 9.210/.892. Now on ADSL+. Actual upload speeds never go over .40. With the higher speeds, I'm noticing many error packets on the ds and 200+ CRC errors ds and 9 us. This over 1 day, 11hrs - according to modem. Questions are: Do/Can I force modem back to G.DMT with CenturyLink? I presume this will force speed back to a max download of 7. Or do I leave it as is if no noticeable issues are present and enjoy the increased speed. My attenuation on the DL with G.DMT was 43. According to these numbers I should not be getting 9Mbps on the DS. Not sure what the issue is with my upload as it won't go over .40 despite showing .892. Thanks for reading and your assistance.
