Previously had CL gigabit service at my old home and used an ERL with an ASUS 68U as a WAP. We recently sold that home and along with it my ERL, long story for another day.
At the new home, we had CL install gigabit service before we moved in. Since then we started noticing the router was inconsistent with speeds under load so I asked to get a C2100 unit. Same issues with that unit but it had a little more speed than the one prior to it.
I found a good deal on a RT-AC87U unit for $50.00 brand new and picked it up tonight. I got it installed and flashed it with the latest Merlin firmware. Then reset the flash and set it up without any issues.
As soon as I tagged the VLAN and put in the PPPOE information the connection came online. The problem is I cannot get more than about 300M speed over gigabit. I poked around the site and made sure the setting for multi-cast and such were set but it seems I am stuck at this speed.
Is there some setting I am overlooking? I can pull the info from NVRAM if you need to see a specific value?
