[Qwest] Strange and frustrating connection behavior

"Why so strange?" you ask - because after searching for someone with a similar problem, I've not found anyone. Chances are, I'm not searching for the correct terms. Smart as people are around here, I'm sure someone has a solution. ------------------------------------------------- When I connect to the internet, data streams down (and up) wonderfully. ...For about 20 seconds. After the 20 seconds are up, I cannot load new pages or images. This problem can be temporarily resolved (20 more seconds) by "Applying" DHCP settings. (Not that any of the settings are changed. Just applying them, then waiting for the router to 'apply your changes' seems to be enough to reset the connectivity.) The strange part is that I can continue sending data through an established connection. EG: Skype calls continue without a problem, Facebook chats go uninterrupted, games continue using the connection (although it's rare I get them connected in the first place). The lights are all green on my modem. I have a 10MBps down/1MBps up speed showing (all fine and good) everything shows that the modem is connected to the internet. This has been ongoing for several months now, although I do occasionally have no problems with browsing for a day or so. Nothing has physically changed, nor were settings altered. Currently, my router is set to factory default settings. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Between refreshing settings and having to listen to my mother whine "Fix the internet-!", this is getting to be maddening.
