[Prism TV] Got a Taste of PRISM TV

Was finally able to see PRISM TV in person yesterday as we watched the (painful) Hawks game at some friends in the Montlake section of Seattle yesterday. 1st off - the guide. Yes, it is not X1, it is not DirecTV, but it's clean, easy to read and maneuver, and gets the job done. 2nd - I was REALLY impressed by the HD quality of the channels. I mean, it's better than Comcast (which is what I had hoped / figured). I had never witnessed an IPTV solution before - and thought there would be buffering, stuttering, etc. of which there was none. I did click around some of the channels I watch - especially Cooking Channel HD. You could tell it was a MPEG-4 stream based on how sharp and fluid the colors are. I'd be interested to know what bitrate they send these at. The colors and sharpness of the local Fox station were outstanding. I finally got to see FS2 in Hi-def!! Their STB's showed a profile of 6 HD streams at one time. I did find potentially an issue - I tuned to GAC HD - it was definitely showing the SD version. Leave it to me to be the one to find these types of problems. LOL. I Know it's very new here in the Seattle area, so I'm sure there's bound to be some hiccups. They showed me the install of the ONT and power supply - and it was identical to what we had with FIOS back East, so nothing new there - but they did install the ONT outdoors. So - now I just sit and wait for them to turn on the switch here in the Fremont neighborhood. Wires and ports were strung a little over a month ago - so i'm sure there's a good amount of time needed to test, and connect all of the areas together. I'll definitely be switching.
