A couple times over the past few weeks, my C1000Z modem has been provisioned incorrectly. I'm paying for 40/5 service but this last weekend I checked it and the modem was provisioned at 30/5. Both times I called CL support and the rep was able to quickly set it back to 40/5 on their end and all was good. They seemed to hint that there was maintenance going on and they forgot to set my modem back to 40/5 which I took with a grain of salt.
I power cycled the modem before I called them but that didn't fix it. They had to switch whatever it was on their end and it instantly corrected itself on my end after I refreshed the modem status page.
Anyone have any thoughts as to what might be causing that? Is this a common occurrence with CenturyLink where they perform maintenance and then "forget" to set a customer's modem back to the correct downstream rate?
I did ask the guy to put in a complaint with his supervisor since this is the second time I had to call in about the issue in the past few weeks but I'm sure that fell on deaf ears.
