Absolutely furious at the moment

So, I was all set to have 1000mb service at my house. Everything looked good, ordered it on 8/4 set install for 8/17 and was happy. The installer comes out yesterday and asks me if anyone has been out to mark utilities and what not. I tell him I do not know as I just got possession on 8/12. He proceeds to walk me around the property, show me that the fiber termination point is on the other side of the street. He then shows me his laptop that shows fiber on the other side of the street and my cul-de-sac not covered. His words: "engineering dropped the ball". So I spent probably 2 hours on the phone madder than hell with CenturyLink. My install is "on hold" which means they have to do the survey and marking and permits and what not to get fiber to my side of the street. They said it will be at least two weeks. Who, these days, can go 2 weeks without internet service at home? When you break it all down, it seems CenturyLink basically told me to call Time Warner. I even asked them that on the phone. "So you're telling me that I should call Time Warner to get internet because your people can't do their job?" I got silence to that. So that's what I did TWC internet until CL can get their head out of their backside. Oh I am so friggin' angry at this. This harkens to the old BellSouth days when they said a neighborhood had DSL but only had 16 ports in the box and all of them were used. Supposedly an outside plant manager is supposed to call me. Yeah, we'll see. Not such a great impression so far. To top that off, the DirecTV installers were so friggin' lazy that they would not even entertain the idea of a dish on my roof. Grrrrr.
