In 2007 I signed up for 10/1, and at the time, it seemed pretty damn fast.
Well that was almost 10 years ago, and now it feels more like dial-up in the way the internet has changed.
I love doing youtube video's, but it took me over 6 hours to upload a 1 hour HD video.
I pay a stupid $1.99/mo "broadband cost recovery fee" as well.
Well after writing them letters year after year, they won't make any attempt to increase my speed.
4 years ago they installed a HUGE fiberoptic node not 1000 feet from my house .
It really sucks because I live to far from cable as well.
But I'm really tired of getting shit on. It's 2015, and the FCC just increase the broadband benchmark to 25/3, which is something I would be happy with.
Then I go on their homepage today, and they have announced 1,000 Mbps internet (I kid you not!).
Well I see what my $2 a month is going towards, but it sure as hell isn't going to make mine any faster.
So I call CL to complain, and even after speaking to a supervisor, they said I "should be more than happy with the speed I'm getting", and be "very lucky, as many of our customers don't even receive such a "fast" speed.".
They pretty much told me "tough shit" in as nice of way as possible.
I'm tired of being over a barrel, and satellite is not an option either (cost and caps).
