IS it OK to splice wires, instead of using RJ11?

Well hello yet again, Ever since we were upgraded to 40/5 in 2013 I have been steadily monitoring the line quality. In 2013 it was a full 48-49/5 (VERY Impressive), then in early-mid 2014 it started dropping down to 45/4.9 (or so) where it stayed until mid-late in the year when I noticed it dropped yet again to 40/4.5. However, the modem sync this year is showing 31/4.0. So, I did a speed test and its now 28/3.9, which is about 20 megs slower then two years ago. We are on a 5 year deal where it should not change, so I was expecting. Anyway, today after hours of online chatting (with tech support) I got them to do a quality check and the Tech was surprised we even have internet with the results he got on his end. EVERYTHING is brand new high quality 2013 lines, from a brand new CL box on the side of the house to new CAT6 going directly from/to the modem with no breaks or splices anywhere. I have a standard phone box a few feet from the C1000A modem where the CAT6 terminates into. From there I have a expensive gold plated phone line (Monster Brand I think) going to the modem (Yeah I know its stupid to buy these aftermarket hyped up wires, but I couldn't help myself as we have 4 Netflix streams/users depending on this connection, lol). The point is the connection should be absolutely perfect from the CL box to the Modem. So, Saturday the tech will arrive, but until then I would like to do some troubleshooting/repairing on my end. SO... First question, can I eliminate the little RJ45-to-RJ11 box and just splice the wires together, effectively removing it out of the equation??? That will give me a direct connection to the outside CL box. Will that do more or less damage to the connection quality? OR, should I get a RJ11 connector and splice the CAT6 wires into it, effectively removing the RJ11 cable? ANY other tips/ideas at all that I can check myself? Would appreciate some ideas on what "might" be going on here. We are rural with almost no neighbors so I was expecting many many years of fantastic 50/5 service, lol. Guess not... One last thing, do these C1000A modems degrade after a few years? Is it still the best model we can have for our VDSL2 - 8A connection? Thanks in advance and have a great day. Best Regards Rod
