How to request DSL

Hello all, I'm moving to a house that Centrylink does not offer DSL too. However, there is DSL service within a couple thousand feet of me (in several directions, up to 3mbps). Of the times that I have called, I have got the response of "the equipment in you area does not offer DSL, but we can take your request", "you live to far, but we can send a tech out to your house the check the signal level" (that lady at the local office would not return my phone call), and the guy next door called to request it as well and got the response "we offer 6mbps DSL at your address". Now the NC state broadband map lists my address as having DSL with Centrylink there, and the map manager even confirmed that Centrylink offered service there per their map submission. Centrylink's own web map just comes up an error page. Is there a better method of getting them to run DSL service to my house? My street has seven 300k+ houses and the adjacent street has many more houses as well. Anyone in particular I can talk to? I'm more than willing to use business class DSL if that will make any difference. Address is xxxxx White Horse Dr. Shawboro, NC 27973
