I've had the C1000A modem for a month or so, and today, I felt I needed to reboot it. I logged into the modem and went to utilities and clicked Reboot. After about 5 minutes I realized it was taking longer than usual to start up again, so when I looked at it, the power light was flashing green.
Looking at the manual, it stated that the flashing green power light either meant that there was a power issue, or corrupted firmware. I double checked the power, and everything was still plugged in completely. I then restarted it by unplugging it multiple times, and leaving it unplugged for 10 minutes. The modem still didn't start.
So at this point I know it's some firmware issue. I tried resetting it by starting it, holding the reset button for 15 seconds, but still, did not start. Upon resetting the modem, the power light turned orange, and then to a red color. A few seconds after the flashing green light appeared again.
I'm not exactly sure how rebooting a modem would brick it, but seeing how it is CenturyLink's equipment it really isn't a huge surprise. Is there any way to re-install the firmware? I really don't want to have it replaced, as that would take an entire week to obtain.
Any ways to fix this?
