Today (finally) we're getting our two bonded DSL circuits at our campground in Colorado. My intent was to then 'bond' these two 20MB/s. circuits thru a Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato MLPPP firmware (v. 1.19 mp2) - (our 'expected' throughput will be something close to 30-40 MB/s 'down' and close to 3.5 MB/s. 'up' but that remains to be seen...) , but I'm 'hestitant' here...
Since "right outta the box" CL would require that each of the Actiontec Q2000 modems use a different username and PW, can I simply use the 'primary' DSL circuit login (the "previously existing" DSL circuit that will be converted to bonded - and then combined with a second bonded circuit that is being added today) to authenticate both DSL circuits? Seems like it'd work.. but this IS CL we're talking about here...
Since the Linksys WRT54GL router can seemingly accommodate only a single username and PW for authentication, I can come up with no other way of 'making this happen' - but this is only the second time I've done this, and previously, it was my own effort to bond two 'regular' DSL circuits - not bonded circuits (which, now that I think of it, should not matter a bit.. uh, right?). Seems like the login info for the "first" DSL circuit should 'do the trick' and we can just 'forget about' the second login info .... After all, what we're doing is just combining (and load balancing) the traffic across these two bonded circuits, and as long as one is authenticated, both should be 'happy'... right? Or am I just fooling myself?
