Has anyone ever gotten CL to admit the problem is on their end?

I bought my first home in Feb, and unfortunately CL is the only provider in the neighborhood. They do at least offer 40/5 (supposedly), but my modem regularly trains to 30/5 or 20/5. The only answer I ever get is "its line damage in your house". I've hooked up the modem to the box on the side of the house and still get the same insane number of CRC errors ( upwards of 30k in a half hour). As of last night ( training at 20/5) I get power 17dB, SNR 17dB, and 0 attenuation. They sent someone out when I was at work, so my girlfriend dealt with them, and the first thing he apparently said as he stepped in the house was " oh yes, these houses ALWAYS have line damage, hope you're ready to pay for the visit". She pointed out that the same thing happens when hooked up outside the house, he grumbled something, and left after 5 minutes having gotten the modem to train back to 40/5. It worked for a while, but after a week or 2 it always degrades. I've tested the line in my house ( its a cat5e throughout the house, the house isn't even 5 years old, and I have gigabit running just fine throughout every port, so I'm disinclined to believe there is severe enough line damage to cause it so regularly) and just in case I even switched the pairs. But any contact with CL is " there's line damage in your house". Which leads me to the posted question, has anyone ever gotten CL to fix something? Does their training completely consist of "blame the customer"? As venting as this post is, any advice on how to deal with CL would be appreciated, or anything I may not have thought of. If it really IS on my end, I'm happy to do what needs to be done to fix it, but for the life of me I can't think of anything else. I seriously wish there was ANY competition in the area haha. Should've moved 5 miles north and gotten google fiber for 2/3 the price.
