So how long should it take to find a broken fiber, and repair?

Centurylink is not impressing me with their customer service, thus far. I signed up for fiber to the premises a couple of weeks back. I had an appointment setup for the tech to come out on a specific day. I took off of work and waited. No one showed up. I called to find out why, and they said that there was a broken fiber that needed fixing before they could do anything. Strike 1. Strike 2 - they said the fiber would be repaired by the 9th. The 9th came and went, and no one called again, and no service. I just called today, and it has now been pushed back to the 23rd. So not impressed with this company - and we don't even yet have service with them! I am considering just scrapping this whole idea of getting fiber if it's this much of a damn hassle!
