After 17 years of no access (not cost-effective to serve), COX followed up today on my previous calls (last April) about Business Internet service. The prices quoted in the past were more than double what I now pay CenturyLink (due to construction costs). They are now willing to match my CL CoreConnect package for $15 less per month (with a 2 year commitment) and a 25/5 speed instead of 10/896.
I was told in December that my DSLAM is supposed to be upgraded to VDSL by the end of March. I'm not sure what speed I will be able to get, or what the additional cost will be. The DSLAM is about 700 feet away (1800 feet wire distance).
My CenturyLink service has always been good, but I would like something faster. Now, I just need to find out what the CoreConnect ETF fee is, and then make a decision....
