Well, out of the blue at 6:00pm yesterday, my modem lost its DSL signal. I called home and our VoIP phone went right to VM. I checked my line monitor status on DSLREPORTS and sure enough, the modem was off line. I got home and powercycled the modem. Still got the "red" DSL signal indication on the modem. I then broke out the trusty spare modem and got the same indication. Tried the connection at the NID, same indication (loss of DSL signal). Called CL for any outage reports in my area (none, they said it was only affect my line). CL tech support then scheduled a tech for Friday Morning. Today I tried power cycling the modem again, and got the same indication. Tried another power cycle around noon' got the signal back and internet connection. I am hoping that a tech or someone reset something at the Dslam to get my service back. Clearly it had to be a CL line or Dslam issue. Any thoughts? The tech is still coming out tomorrow as far as I know. We have had CL/Qwest DSL service for probably 10 years and this is the first signal loss we have experienced. I hope it is not the begining of a trend.
