I just upgraded from 20 mbps to 120 mbps yesterday. I currently have a C1900A modem, and was advised by CL tech support that I need a new modem (after i was told last week that I did NOT need a new modem). I have rebooted modem, direct wired my computer into the modem (I have an Asus router behind the modem), disconnected router, and am still seeing speeds only about 80 Mbps (speedtest.net and CL help site speedtest).
Oh, and in case it matters I rebuilt my computer 2 weeks ago to new motherboard and Ryzen 5 cpu, 16 gb ram.
1. Has anyone else had similar issues or upgraded to new modem to support a similar speed? CL suggested I get a C3000A as it was the only one to support up to 200 mbps.
2. Are there non-Century Link options that work well or is it really best to just go with their modem?
