The discounts on my existing internet package expire July 22nd. I've had them for four years (renewed once, two years ago) giving me a 40mb line for $42 month. They don't offer the discounts anymore, so they sent me to the Loyalty (Retention) Department. She signed me up for the 140mb plan for $55 month, price for life. I set the install date for July 15th. This is supposed to continue as a post-paid account with a paper bill.
Now comes the fun part. She said no tech visit is required, it will be an account change at the CO. I should see the increased speeds sometime on July 15th. The online tool shows a tech visit is required (at no charge) for the 140mb plan. I'm fairly close to the RT (700 feet actual distance, not sure wire distance), but I'm sure this is a bonded service. I have a C2000, that someone gave me, sitting on a shelf. I'm currently using a C1000A in bridge mode. I'll just have to wait and see what it syncs at on the 15th, and if a tech shows up.
