How long will it take to set the new DSLAM, lay and light up the fiber?
Living on an island, I've always been starved for bandwidth. This week I saw spools of cable and several trucks, flaggers, crews and ditchwitches in my neighborhood working along the road from my current DSLAM (8000' loop length estimated) up the hill toward my end of the island. The flagger confirmed that they are laying fiber in the ditch along the main road. I'd estimate that the route will be about 4000' of new cable as they are already toward the southern end of the island with little need to go further.
I've always found that I had to call CL to get any service upgrades because they never market anything. Hence my question above: When should I start pestering CL for upgraded service? I'm on pair bonded 20 down 2 up and could use a boost on both directions. Thanks for reading.
