Looking for CenturyLink modem purchase options. In a rural area with 10 mbps we may even get 20 mbps service some day. Want to set up a basic modem and bypass wi fi to use with our own router or a good combo modem router. What are the good basic modems for use with a separate router? And what are the good combo routers/ modems with 5 GHz with ac wi-fi? Looks like Actiontec C2300A, Technicolor C2100T, and ZyXEL C2100Z have 2.4 GHz b/g/n, 5 GHz n/ac. I'm not familiar with these companies so I'm not sure which brand is better.
Option 1
Basic C'Link modem and good router with 5 Ghz ac (like the Asus's RT-AC86U)
Option 2
Good combo modem/ router with 5 Ghz ac
