I've got partial internet service. Some websites load, others don't. What I'm seeing is that the initial connection to port 80 works and returns a 301 redirect, but the connection to the 443 port just hangs and times out for some websites. It's been doing this since Thursday. Msn works sometimes, yahoo is down, DLSReports comes and goes. Often I see issues where the main page of a website responds on 443, but all the stuff pulled from CDN servers just hangs. So msn would load, but all the content it pulls in from akamaized.net eventually fails. The same with yahoo, www.yahoo.com loads but the content from s.yimg.com fails.
I'm on Centurylink DSL using a 3rd party ISP (iinet.com now easystreet.com). I've contacted both providers and neither were much help. I've rebooted the modem, my machines, I've reset the modem to factory defaults, changed DNS servers, but no luck.
It looks like something upstream from me is causing port 443 connections to fail. How would I determine whose network is causing these issues and get them to fix it?
