Will CenturyLink ever Modernize Eventually?

Hello, I want to ask some of you your opinion on what YOU think CenturyLink is going to do when their services are threatened from the likes of Starlink or 5G? (My internet was much better at Comcast and that was 12 years ago) I have been to many Cities and countries world wide such as London, Liverpool, Beijing, Seoul, and others in America, but the worst Internet service I have seen to date are right here at my home in the United States. So when I say I would love to say good bye to CL I deeply mean it. So, 5G could soon bring me MUCH faster broadband within the next few years and Starlink will put some where between 7000 and 12000 Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellites with near fiber like performance at 3-20ms latency and at half the cost of CL. So, would this force CenturyLink to modernize and start bringing truly great services, or would they just ignore the threats and allow their services to go further into the toilet as people dump them in droves? Like I plan to do once I can. I am just curious if anyone here knows how corporate CL thinks and what, if anything, they could do to compete. Do they already have something that will future proof their broadband services in rural areas? Or are the old copper lines just too limited to do anything? I am sick and tired of overpaying for my 25Mbps speeds (nothing but a lie when I pay for 40/5) that can't even maintain simple Youtube or normal 1080p Netflix streams. Your opinion on CL's future plans please. I am curious. Thanks
