I just upgrade to Centurylink Bonded Pair service in Tijeras, NM. The service I went with is the new Price for Life 40/80mbps for $55.00. The work order showed it was only for 40mbps service and I did question this prior to the install. I talk with customer service and they told me that was the fastest for my service area. When the installer got everything done and hooked up my modem it showed 20mbps on each line which gave me the 40mbps speed. He then check the speed incoming to the house and said it was 85mbps.
What I have found is that CL programs the speed for you connection. How or who controls the speed settings, programming, of my connection? Does CL do this based on your user name set in the modem?
I would like to have this changed to the upper end of the plan I signed up for.
