I upgraded to CL's bonded DSL service and now get 70+ mbps service. Regular web browsing and connections to outside databases works fine. But from outside I no longer can get into my own website and database.
Setup:
• single, static IP
• modem = CenturyLink Actiontec C1900A; ISP protocol set to auto, with PPOE auto-chosen
• router = Netgear R6400 AC1750, set up with port forwarding to computers serving web and database; no changes to its config after changing CL modems.
When I bypass the router, plugging the CenturyLink Actiontec directly into the web computer, and browse to my static IP, I get no response. From outside, one can ping my IP and get a response, and with the regular browsing working fine, I know the modem is connecting to the internet. But it just won't allow my web and database service to go out.
The Actiontec's routing is on, but it's doing 192 range and my Netgear is doing 172, a setup that worked fine with previous modem.
