Why is my CenturyLink DSL out again (East Texas)?

Can someone tell me what the issue is now? Calling tech support does nothing. They aren't aware of an outage. They want to troubleshoot despite my informing them that friends and relatives in the area are experiencing the same problem. My Zyxel modem has a alternating red/green blinking internet light with all the other lights working appropriately. Voice works. Rebooting does nothing. Friends/relatives in the area are experiencing the same issue. When I tell tech support this, they have to follow a script, I guess and make me jump through hoops. I wish there was a way to just report an outage and get some feedback as to the nature of the issue.
