I pay for 8mb as part of a bundle, and have generally gotten 5mb. I live in a rural area, and I think I am about 2 miles from the closest telco box... so I was fine getting 5mb (as I have no other alternative).
But in the past few weeks, I noticed my speeds crawling... I did a speed test (from a tablet, a PC, a phone, etc), and all get about 1.1mb consistently.
I just spent 30 min with CenturyLink troubleshooting... and the best they could do was tell me to buy new filters (they are 6 years old). I just pulled all of the filters off the lines in the house, and rechecked... still the same 1.1mb or so.
My next step is to plug the modem in the service port and see what I get... but can anyone interpret my results below to see if there is some other underlying issue with my line (line from the telco box to the house)?
Also - Any tricks to get tech support to bypass the generic steps of 'reboot computer', 'reset internet settings', etc, and get a tech out to my house? Clearly this is a DSL problem, and not a computer problem (again, my tablet is suffering slow speeds as well).
