Centurylink has recently ran fiber optic cables in a ditch near my house and I have been trying to get answers as to whether I will see upgraded internet speeds in my area but can't get answers. The fiber optic cables were run to what I believe are exchange boxes about 1.1 miles from my house where I assume they will switch to copper to houses. The boxes I observed had several cabinets and a power meter installed next to them. I just noticed however that they installed a box only 50 yards from my house. I'm hoping it is also some type of exchange box that will give me faster internet but I'm not sure. Can someone identify what this box is? If it's not a DSLAM do you think I will see faster internet from the DSLAM 1.1 miles from my house? I currently have 6/.4 service.
Thanks,
Joe
