CenturyLink modem/router not translating signal?

Hey guys. Recently upgraded to vdsl-2 25mbps from dsl 10mbps. I had to upgrade to vdsl capable router. CenturyLink sent out their licensed action-tec modem/router. It connects fine to the dsl, but the internet light flashes red to green and the modem seems to not configure the internet. #2 on this page describes the problem http://internethelp.centurylink.com/internethelp/modem-lights-internet.html. The issue has been escalated with-in CenturyLink, as the over-the-phone tech could not get the issue resolved. It is obviously on their end. Was wandering if any experienced people in here would know exactly what the issue could be? EDIT: I have been through all troubleshooting exercises with a level 1 tech. Entered correct PPPoE user/pw multiple times. Reset multiple times, etc. etc. For some reason, the router will not authenticate on their end.
