The story goes like this:
Couple months ago I bought an Embarq 660r modem off eBay, as I'm not from the US I thought it was a pretty darn good deal as it was dirt cheap (I just needed a modem and my desperation led to me buying it without doing some research)
FF'ing to the day it arrives, I tested it right away and everything seemed mint with the only exception it wouldn't work if I plugged the ethernet directly to the PC, it just worked hooking it up to a router. I didn't mind this as it was intended to be used with my TP-Link router. Anyway, I went on to configure my ISP's parameters and such and I started to surf like I'd normally do. Problem started ~10 minutes later, ¡f I tried to surf on my phone it'd ask me for a login, and surfing through the PC redirected me to a CenturyLink Setup page, in which I had to enter some credentials (guessing all their clients have) but since I'm obviously not a client I tried contacting support. They told me to factory reset it by pressing down the reset button for a minute or so. Did it as they told me with no luck, kept me redirecting to their Setup page. I even tried flashing a new firmware with no luck either. So I just gave up and bought another modem, this one working flawlessly. So my question is, can their Setup page be "bypassed"? Or is there any way to avoid getting redirected to their page? Or should I just forget it and embrace the fact that I might've wasted my money on this modem? Any help will be truly appreciated.
