Hey guys! I recently put a server together for some home virtualization. I have one VM working as a live encoding server to push my streams to twitch.tv, however when using any amount of upload - my latency jitters pretty sporadically.
I have a 20/5mbps connection, and if I use 4000kb upload, I get major jitter - anywhere from 35ms to 800ms while running a recursive ping to google.com. At around 3000k it's better, but still present. Even at 1000k upload, it's a lot smaller but still there.
I have a fairly older C1000Z modem, and the rest of my networking equipment is pretty decent - so I'm wondering if upgrading my DSL modem would help - or if there's some settings on my modem I can change, or if it's just the nature of my connection/DSL.
Network configuration is DSL Modem (transparent bridge) -> Ubiquiti Router -> TP-Link Switch -> Computer/server/wifi AP/etc.
