Hey guys,
My mother's POTS line has been out for over a week. Centurylink was only able to give her a 7-day out appointment window for some reason that came and went yesterday around 12pm. She has been out to the NID and has no dial tone there, just battery, with an old "known to work" corded phone. Her DSL is fine. When you call the line it just keeps ringing. Normally it would hit voicemail after the 4th ring but it doesn't. She says she can hear it ringing but when she picks up it's just terrible static/white-noise. She had a power outage in the area about a week ago and her phone has been out since. The issue doesn't appear to be affecting her immediate neighbors either, just isolated to her. It seems like a bad line card to me, like it took a hit after the power outage, because it doesn't ring busy like a dead short and her hearing it ringing but not being able to answer effectively. I had her call the PUCO and file a complaint but we all know that really won't take care of anything. Next step might be the FCC since she's been without POTS so long.
Anyhoo...she's been in contact with customer service (overseas) and has been promised the world but still nothing has been resolved.
I found the talktous@centurylink.com email address and have suggested that to her. And I'm also considering PM'ing a tech here, but I'm not sure if they'll work with me being as I'm not on her account (yet...). I checked the FAQ for regional director/VP email addresses and phone numbers and I haven't found any. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place?
Does anybody have any "escalation" numbers or email addresses that aren't searchable here?
A few days being out is no big deal but over a week is kinda ridiculous. We would just like them to take care of it....and I would as well so she'll stop bothering me about it!
