Difference Between CL Simple Internet Installation 7 & 12 Mbps?

Hello all! I'm looking to switch away from Comcast internet, and a colleague suggested CenturyLink. Entering my address on their website shows that CenturyLink offers two internet packages under the CL Simple Internet brand. Both are $30 dollars a month, however one is at 7 Mbps and the other is 12 Mbps. The main difference is the 7 Mbps lets you do a self install (they ship you the modem and associated cables), and the 12 Mbps requires a one time $150 installation fee and it seems like a technician needs to come out. Does anyone have any information on what is involved with the tech coming out? From my limited understanding of some quick google searching, is the 12 Mbps a bonded connection and the tech will need to install a second phone line from the pole to my jack near where the modem will be? How exactly will the tech be running a second line from the pole to my third story apartment, and then (more importantly) from the apartment wall to the jack near the modem almost on the other side of the apartment without tearing into the walls/drywall??? I'm in New Mexico if it makes a difference, but I'm mainly just trying to understand what the difference between these two plans are if there is one in terms of installation or line/connection type, and what that means for installation. I also plan on calling CenturyLink tomorrow for some more info, but figured I'd ask here in the meantime. I appreciate you guys helping a dummy understand this a little better, thanks!
