Feb 24th 11:59 am - 27:36 call - Called about an internet upgrade. When going over the details I was told it would be a 12 month contract, and $200 cancellation fee if I cancelled before the 12 months was over. Upon hearing this I told him I didn't want to make that commitment, and I was told he was cancelling any upgrade.
Feb 27th I realized the internet had been upgraded anyway. 20:54 long call to centurylink. I was told it said in the notes from the first call I had cancelled any upgrade but it had somehow been put on a contract anyway. I was transferred, and after going over the details I was told the upgrade was removed, and the contract would be cancelled. I specifically asked if there would be a $200 cancellation fee, and told there would be no $200 fee
Mar 14th - 12:57 pm - 14:16 long call - I called to cancel my internet service and was told I was STILL on this new 12 month contract and they were going to charge me a $200 cancellation fee. I told them I would not pay this, and walked them through the past two calls. After talking to her supervisor I was told they would be cancelling my services tomorrow.
I better not see any kind of $200 charge. If so I am going to be talking to a lawyer about suing them for fraud. I know all these calls and recorded and documented through notes. I made sure it was cancelled on the phone two different times, and they're wanting to charge me anyway. I'm not going to stand for that.
