Hi, we had many issues with both phone/internet, the CL techs said indoor quad wiring was bad. They bypassed it, installing a new line to a plate through an outside wall close to phone box. I asked if could have two jacks on the plate, one for router, one for phone, to avoid going through router so not to lose phone signal if reboot router. Was told that wasn't a good idea, and not to worry since I wouldn't lose signal, so here I thought he'd do it his way, with one jack, but at the end, he said "I did it the way you wanted and put two". I said Wait, I thought you said that was a bad idea so thought you were going to do it your way? He answered that he put a SLED out in the phone box. He said one jack I could ONLY use for the router, and the other ONLY for the phone. He answered my question that he was "sure" it wouldn't negatively affect either our phone or internet service at all. We have 40MB service. Now we are having some weird stuff happening with video streaming. Netflix will have random total freezup in the middle of a movie. Or else Netflix or Amazon will say "loading" forever (so basically freezing up as well) Was the way he did the wiring with this "SLED" acceptable standards, or could it be causing my problems which we've never had before.
