New Service

We had some issues with our phone service about a week ago and so Centurylink sent a tech out to fix it. While he was there he told us High Speed internet was available and ask what he had (we were using a VZ 3G card). He said we would be able to get the top package (around 8-10 down). This is my parent's farm/home in Ohio and I was only home for the week (I live in Arizona) but I ordered it for them. He came back a day I wasn't there and installed a modem (not in the right spot). I also received another modem in the mail. When I plugged in via ethernet to the modem he had already installed my speeds were terrible. I tried restarting it and everything. I was only getting about .20 down and .90 up. So I decided to switch modems and put it on the phone jack that I wanted (that was near my router). When I switched modems I was sure to put a filter on the other jack where my fax machine is. This changed nothing. I contacted a tech online and he said it could take a week for speeds to get to normal. I gave it a week. My parents run a business (florist) out of their home and this is not acceptable - it's slower / more unreliable than their 3G card. So I contacted tech support (I'm now in AZ) and they sent the tech back out after I threatened to cancel. He came out and basically told my parents that the DSL and Internet lights were on the modem so they are good to go. (I have log me in so I can check speeds / modem screen on a computer there) HE DID NOTHING. The speeds are exactly the same. He is coming back on Wednesday (my parents now have issues with their faxes coming out scrambled) to possibly run a new line to the fax machine? I plan on being on the phone with him while he is there. The tech I talked to on the phone said he could see there were many errors on our account. Does anyone have any suggestions to tell the tech on Wednesday. I'm extremely frustrated (it's more difficult trying to help while i'm across the country) and if they can't get it fixed on Wednesday I'm going to have to cancel and go back to our 3G card (I really want Centurylink to pull through though). Thanks!
