I'm posting here since over the years of trying to resolve my issue I frequently end up at this site reading other peoples posts.
I have 3 problems I'd really like to address. Two are actual CL technical issues, the 3rd I'm adding in the optimistic hope that a CL Tech will respond and I can talk to a real human.
Problem 1: For years I've had problems with my DSL retraining. CL has given me 4 routers, sent a tech multiple times. Every time but one the response is the same, my wiring tests out fine, they claim it's a switch issue at their end and move me to a new port. The one time that was different they claimed there was a bad termination in the field. Sometimes it has seemed their efforts temporarily fixed the issue but only temporarily (or it had no effect at all).
Here's a screen shot from DSLStats showing SNR Margin bouncing around throughout the past 24 hours.

Each of those drops below 10dB SNR Margin result in a retrain. There are periods of very good stability and then the wheels fall off. My personal assumption is that they're just overloaded at the DSLAM at various times but they never admit to it and even if true that doesn't help me much.
I have 7mb/s service from CL, I periodically have to call CL and have them reset it to 7 from 2 or 3mb/s. When it's working at 7 it works just fine.
Here's a screenshot from later in the day, it shows that once the SNR is stable it's very stable for hours on end. Ironically the stability occurred within minutes of my posting here (technically before or I'd be very suspicious ;) ). I've carefully avoided touching anything for a day so none of the plot structure is due to any action on my part.

Problem 2: I have a low latency use case and I'm confused as to why the first hop is 45ms and then a more predictable 20+ ms given the geographic separation (Abq to DFW) after that. My assumption is it's somewhat related to the first problem though I've seen comments that it's router based. Here's an image from ping plotter showing the high first hop latency.

It's nicely stable (when the DSL SNR is good) but I would like that built in 50ms overhead to go away.
I currently have a C1000A but the problem existed with other routers like PK style ones (whose model I've forgotten). If it's in fact on my end due to router selection I'd be happy to hear recommendations.
Problem 3: I recently remodeled my home. I've relocated all utilties but the DSL to a new pole and service entrance. Repeated phone calls to CL (4 so far) asking that the service be moved to a different pole in the back of the house results in multiple transfers and then a hang up. I'd be happy to upgrade to a higher speed service but only if Problem 1 and Problem 3 are resolved. I refuse to pay more for a faster unstable link that's crossing my front yard.
I realize this is more targetted at CL than the regular users here but any suggestions, strategies, input welcome.
