Centurylink broadband taxes?

i just recently signed on to Centurylink DSL service; so now i have a phone+internet bundle. The first bill came the other day... i was under the impression that there were no taxes allowed on broadband service. And also, the amount implied by the charge, e.g. State sales at 5.6% becoming $0.82 implies a taxable amount of $14.65 -- i have no idea where they pulled that amount from. It's more than that. I am aware of "Internet Cost Recovery Fee $1.99" per month, and that's a totally dishonest charge; but I presume they are legally allowed to charge whatever they want (but can't just conjure up / claim taxes). Taxes, Fees & Surcharges Internet Service State Sales at 5.6% 0.82 County Sales at .7% 0.10 City Sales at 2.3% 0.34 Local Phone Service Federal Excise at 3% 1.59 State Sales at 5.6% 2.71 County Sales at .7% 0.35 City Sales at 4.7% 2.25 State 911 at $0.20 per access line 0.20 Arizona Universal Service Fund at $0.01 per line 0.01 Federal Universal Serv Fund at 17.9% 1.41 Telecommunication Relay Service Fund at 1.1% 0.18 Facility Relocation Cost Recovery Fee at $0.80 per access line 0.80 Regulatory Surcharge at .19% 0.05 Taxes, Fees & Surcharges Total $10.81
