i just recently signed on to Centurylink DSL service; so now i have a phone+internet bundle.
The first bill came the other day...
i was under the impression that there were no taxes allowed on broadband service. And also, the amount implied by the charge, e.g. State sales at 5.6% becoming $0.82 implies a taxable amount of $14.65 -- i have no idea where they pulled that amount from. It's more than that.
I am aware of "Internet Cost Recovery Fee $1.99" per month, and that's a totally dishonest charge; but I presume they are legally allowed to charge whatever they want (but can't just conjure up / claim taxes).
